New Chairman for Exeter Chamber of Commerce

Exeter Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chairman, David Savill, Partner and Head of the Corporate and Business Services at Bishop Fleming.

David has been a member of the Chamber Council since 2009 and is actively involved within South West Chambers of Commerce. Other roles have also seen David at the sharp end of business, through a range of Non-Executive Director roles, currently serving as the Non-Executive Chairman of South West Investment Group Services (The Fund Management Company administering a number of government and European backed funds for business in the South West), a Trustee on a variety of business related family trusts and as a Partner of Bishop Fleming.

David said: "It is an enormous privilege to be elected as Chairman of Exeter Chamber of Commerce, I believe that my breadth of experience across a wide range of businesses of all shapes and sizes gives me a good insight into our members’ needs. I am passionate about business in Exeter and its importance as the driver for the success and wellbeing of the area.” 

Derek Phillips, Vice President of Exeter Chamber of Commerce commented: “We are delighted to have such a prominent business leader as our new Chairman. I am sure David will help ensure Exeter remains as the principle driver of the economy in this area.”

Exeter Chamber is looking ahead to another busy year with over 25 networking events already scheduled for its 500 members focussing on a number of topical business matters this year, and further events and meetings to be announced.
