Nigel joins the team with Vice President Stephen Mahoney, Partner and Head of Residential Property at law firm Porter Dodson in Wellington and President Sue Aggett, Business Lead – Environment, Health and Wellbeing at Teignbridge District Council.
Nigel specialises in all types of criminal regulatory advocacy with a particular emphasis on representing the south west business and agricultural sectors in health & safety and environmental cases. Nigel defends individuals and businesses involved in such matters as well as advising and representing government and public bodies in prosecuting cases in the Magistrates and Crown Courts.
Nigel Lyons said: “It’s a great honour to be part of DASLS Presidential team. Outgoing President Mark Roome has worked extremely hard during his year in office to advocate the innovation and the leadership that DASLS offers to the legal profession across our region. I hope to continue the team’s work by promoting the great benefits of DASLS membership and by ensuring that the representation of the interests of our existing members remains the focus of what our local law society does.”
DASLS is one of the leading local Law Societies in England and Wales and encourages and supports innovation, integrity and leadership in the legal profession and provides a strong focus for lawyers in the region.
