Interserve, the international support services and construction group will be donning cycling gear this week to take on a four day challenge to raise money for a new Academy for the Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education.

On Wednesday 22nd July at 4pm, members of the Interserve South West Regional Building and Infrastructure team will be starting their challenge to cycle the length of the UK from John O’Groats to Lands End, some 969 miles in four days. The challenge will be taking place on a turbo trainer positioned at Tesco in Exeter Vale, Russell Way, Exeter.

The cycle will be non-stop with team changes every 6 hours, each team will consist of three members, whilst one member is cycling the other two members will be supporting and fundraising. Every spin counts and we will be cycling and collecting throughout the night.

Divisional Director of Interserve, Paul Gale, who will be starting the event off on Wednesday 22nd July at 4pm and cycling the first six hour shift said, ‘the team is excited and nervous to be taking on this huge challenge, we are a local team committed to our local communities and this event provides an opportunity for us to live by our values and bring better to life. Please come along and support our team who will be cycling throughout the night to raise as much money as possible for the Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education.”

Jonathan Farnhill, Chief Executive of the Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education will also be starting the event and helping to get the team underway with good mileage at the start, commented, “I am delighted to be, once again, joining Interserve on a cycle challenge to raise money for our exciting and vitally important new building. Last year it was London to Paris and now the team from Interserve have come up with something equally challenging. Without the support of our fundraising partners we can’t realise our dream for Deaf students and we are extremely grateful.”

The challenge will finish on Saturday 25th July when the Interserve team hope to have reached Lands End. Please come along and support the cyclists or go to the team’s fundraising page if you would like to donate and support; https://www.justgiving.com/InterserveJOG2LE
