Forest Fuels finalists in Business Green Leaders Awards
Okehampton-based wood fuel distributor Forest Fuels has been shortlisted for Small Business of the Year (fewer than 100 employees) in the national Business Green Leaders Awards.
Organised by Business Green Magazine – the UK's leading source of information for the green economy – the awards celebrate the industry’s most exciting and innovative achievements from the past 12 months.
Peter Solly, managing director of Forest Fuels, said: “The past year has been another exceptional year for Forest Fuels and launched a number new initiatives to make our customers’ lives easier.
“We’ve taken care of much more than just wood fuel deliveries – helping many claim Renewable Heat Incentive payments and ensuring that their boilers are maintained at optimum performance levels.”
Forest Fuels was shortlisted for a number of reasons including the robust supply chain it has built for business and households; its exciting growth (including two new depots and the acquisition of Anglia Biofuels, Lakes Biomass, and Liverpool Wood Pellets blown pellet business); introducing a biomass ESCO model over the past 12 months; and investing hugely in staff, systems and equipment.
Forest Fuels’ entry also highlighted the company’s role in as an industry expert in renewable heat – particularly Operations Manager Howard Towns guidance to the industry as an elected member of the UK Pellet Council’s steering group.
Now in their sixth year, the Business Green Leaders Awards are the UK's largest and most prestigious green business awards. The glittering awards ceremony takes place on Wednesday 6 July at the Brewery in London where the overall winners will be announced.
Forest Fuels has seen particular growth in its business over the past 12 months thanks to its increased presence throughout the UK. This has included delivering blown wood pellets in Merseyside, Lancashire, Shropshire, Cheshire, Cumbria and North Wales.
