Grant boost for mental health support
Enterprise Holdings Foundation has donated £1000 to Step One to boost its mental health services.
Step One supports people to manage their mental health, achieve employment goals and live more independently.
The Exeter-based charity’s work includes providing a hospital in Devon for people experiencing a mental health crisis, and a community centre offering free courses and activities so people can manage their mental health and wellbeing.
Phillip Wright, business rental sales executive with Enterprise, successfully applied for the grant after volunteering for the charity at fundraising events.
He said: “It’s great to be able to support charities that are local to me and I’m delighted that this money will help make a difference to people who have mental health issues.”
Eilis Rainsford, chief executive, said: “We’re very grateful to Phillip for his support and for applying for the grant. It will help us to develop outdoor and occupational therapy spaces at our mental health hospital, and expand our community-based service so more people can benefit.”
The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Enterprise Holdings, which through its integrated global network of independent regional subsidiaries and franchises, operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands.
