Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, welcomed a group of seven high school students to its Exeter HQ as part of National Airlines Day to experience a glimpse into the world of aviation.
The invited students were from St. Peter’s C of E School in Exeter, Sidmouth College and Maiden Beech Academy in Crewkerne, all of whom won the opportunity to attend this special event during this summer’s hugely successful Big Bang South West in Exeter, an careers’ day for schools which highlighted opportunities for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths careers.
New research from Devon-based Lightfoot, the maker of the world’s first technology to reward better company car drivers, has revealed that 12% of drivers are citing stress caused by work as the main reason for accidents, with a further 12% pointing to phone calls made during journeys, and 4% highlighting urgent work emails as the chief cause of their accident.

After a busy year of activities, South Devon University Technical College (UTC) has announced the date for its last business breakfast of 2019.
On Thursday 7th November, 7:30am to 9:00am, South Devon UTC is inviting businesses to meet the staff and students at the pioneering technical college. In the same week as This is Engineering Day (6th November), professionals will have the opportunity to connect with engineers, environmentalists and scientists of the future and can find out more about the benefits of the college’s employer partnership programme.
