The beauty of the thousands of languages around the globe will be marked at events across Exeter this week

Linguistic diversity will be celebrated at the University of Exeter’s Translation Festival, held at the Phoenix Arts Centre, Exeter Central Library and the Royal Albert Memorial Museum on Friday, 27 September.

Winners of Exeter’s Contemporary Open Art Award announced

An exclusive awards ceremony and exhibition opening at Exeter Phoenix last night saw SW based Dinu Li announced as the winner of the prestigious £1000 Overall Award for Exeter Contemporary Open 2019 for his featured moving image work, Nation Family.

The second award of the evening – the £500 Additional Award – went to artist Mahali O’Hare. Speaking at the event, O’Hare said ‘It’s a lovely shock to win this award’.

The final award of the competition is the Audience Choice Award, which will be voted for by visitors and announced at the end of the exhibition.

Air Marketing Reign Victorious in Children's Charity Sports Day

Last week, national children’s charity CHICKS challenged local Exeter businesses to compete in their Superstar Games. A first for the charity, the games were held in Princesshay in Exeter City Centre and sponsored by Ashley House Printing, with teams headed up by Smart Estate Agents, Attention Media, KTA, Air Marketing and a mixed team of people from various businesses. Hundreds of jobs will be up for grabs at a major job fair in Exeter tomorrow (Wednesday 25 September).
