Devon based Rockwood Composites and Haeco Cabin Solutions revolutionise aircraft seating

Rockwood Composites, based in Newton Abbot, and HAECO Cabin Solutions have today (3 April 2019) announced a partnership that will revolutionise aircraft seating for the business market. HAECO has commissioned Rockwood to do the tooling on its new “Eclipse” cabin platform for seat shells and console work.

The business potential for the new seating is huge and there is already a commitment to refit a large fleet for an unnamed Middle-East-based airline.

Countdown to the Exeter Really Big Quiz 2019! Event to raise thousands for Lord Mayor’s charity

Exeter-based chartered accountancy firm Simpkins Edwards is inviting businesses from across Exeter and Devon to take part in its 16th annual Really Big Quiz. RD&E helipad will be upgraded to enable more patient landings

Work to upgrade the current helipad at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust will begin this month, thanks to a £1 million donation from the County Air Ambulance HELP Appeal.

The donation has covered the cost of the redevelopment and will allow the introduction of night landings at the hospital. At the moment, the helipad does not have the capacity to support night landings, meaning that its day light operation is limited, especially throughout the winter months. Bacon butties raise £822 for Chiefs' foundation

RGB Building Supplies raised a fantastic £822.65 for the Exeter Chiefs Foundation on Monday 18th March during a company-wide charity breakfast morning.

Visitors to RGB's Exeter branch were able to enjoy a bacon roll and hot drink served by Chiefs' star Phil Dollman in return for a donation to the Foundation, which raises money for 20 community organisations across the region. As a member of the charity's Foundation XV programme, RGB have pledged to raise £1,500 in a year. In addition to the breakfast morning, two members of staff will be taking on a tandem sky dive in June....

Funding secured for next winter's night shelter

Exeter’s night shelter supported 194 rough sleepers over the winter and will open up again in November thanks to the City Council securing extra funding.

The shelter – dubbed The Junction – is set to wind down at the end of the month as the weather improves and temperatures go up.

Since opening up its doors in November, the facility has provided a total of 3,239 bed nights and given shelter, allowing those sleeping rough to come inside on some of the coldest nights over the winter, when the City Council has enacted its Severe Weather Protocol (SWEP).
