Hendy Foundation launched to support local community in Devon

Charities and organisations in Devon can now apply for a grant following the formation of a dedicated charity foundation set up by the Hendy Group to provide grants to local projects, people, events and charitable organisations.

Hendy Foundation is set to provide grants from £500 to £5,000 and is dedicated to making a difference to people’s lives in the areas in which the group operates.

The group has 57 franchise outlets across 30 location and employs more than 1,100 people in Exeter, Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey and Devon.

Devon youngsters prepare for Winter School Games

Almost 1000 youngsters will be competing in the Devon winter school games later this week (Thursday 28th March). The popular event, organised by Active Devon, is being staged at the Torbay Leisure Centre, Clennon Valley. The school games, funded by Sport England, are designed to deliver competitive sport to all young people. They will come from Devon’s primary and secondary school age groups and more than 500 will be taking part in the cross-country competition and festival races. Griffin Chartered Accountants, which has offices in Honiton and Exeter, has acquired East Devon accountancy firm Sloane Walker in a move that means an increase of 25 per cent in the company’s personnel and client base.

Devon Hotels & Restaurants Association raise £800 for charity at annual dinner

Members of the Exeter & Heart of Devon Hotels & Restaurants Association raised a whopping £800 for Hospitality Action at this year’s annual dinner held at Mercure Southgate Hotel on Monday 4th March.
