Exeter knitwear designer, Lauren Aston, has been handpicked to host a series of workshops throughout the region with national clothing retailer, Joules.

The workshops, which will take place during November and December, take place in Joules stores in Exeter and Cribbs Causeway in Bristol.

Lauren, 27, who works from her home studio in Exeter, will be using it as a chance to show people how to design and make their own chunky knit Santa hats, using jumbo needles and wool.

Tithebarn Lane closed ahead of new M5 bridge installation

A new pedestrian and cycle bridge is due to be installed over the M5 motorway at Exeter, just north of Junction 29, next week. The structure, which will be next to the existing overbridge at Tithebarn Lane, is expected to be lifted in overnight on Saturday 18 November. On Friday 3rd November, the Exeter Dementia Action Alliance (EDAA) were invited to be a part of the EMG Symphony Orchestra’s 50th Anniversary as their selected community group for the retiring collection.

The public may hold the vital clue to find the killer of 14-year-old Exwick schoolgirl Kate Bushell 20 years ago and bring them to justice, say detectives.

Devon and Cornwall Police has launched a major public appeal for information on the 20th anniversary of Kate’s murder as part of an investigative review into her death.

Kate, a bright and popular girl, was killed on Saturday 15 November 1997 as she walked a neighbour’s dog near her home in Exwick. Her body was found in a field off Exwick Lane by her father. She had sustained a brutal knife wound to her throat.
