Lord Mayor officially launches landmark new homes development at Exeter Science Park

The Lord Mayor of Exeter, Councillor Lesley Robson, has officially launched a landmark scheme for more than 200 new homes on the outskirts of the city.

The new Minerva development, which will feature a 15-acre country park, will be constructed close to Exeter Science Park, where more than 60 people attended the launch party.

Barratt Homes will create 159 homes with David Wilson Homes delivering 63 homes to meet the rising demand for new homes in Devon. The scheme will support more than 650 jobs.

Teignmouth flood defence scheme works complete

Work on Teignmouth’s flood defence scheme is now complete, helping protect people, homes and businesses from flooding for years to come.

The project started in February and focused on the repair, renewal and strengthening of the sea defence structure at the Point. Additional essential work was then carried out to tackle erosion found under the sea wall during the works.

RMT suspends strike action on Stagecoach South West buses

Bus Workers Union RMT has suspended its planned strike action across Devon.

RMT General Secretary Mick Cash said: “The union is able to confirm that new pay proposals have been tabled by management following intense negotiations.
