The competition is open to those involved in sport throughout Devon and, unlike similar awards, will be not-for-profit with any money raised going to charity.

Active Devon is celebrating its tenth anniversary of hosting the awards and has partnered with the Exeter Foundation, a charity closely linked to the Exeter Chiefs, to stage a star-studded ceremony.
Over 60 London 2012 sports volunteers came together at a Christmas Party organised by Active Devon, at Sandy Park Exeter last week.
The party, for Devon Games Makers, Torch Bearers and Young Ambassadors, featured the opportunity to ask Olympic athlete and Torch Bearer Gorgs Geikie about her experiences at the Games and also to hear from Young Ambassadors from St Luke’s Science and Sports College about their experiences volunteering in the Olympic Garden.
Gorgs brought along her Olympic Torch and kindly donated her own Torch Bearers shirt which she had signed as a raffle...
County Sport Partnership Active Devon have put out a call for all Games Makers and Torch Bearers from this year’s London 2012 Games to get in contact with them to ensure they receive a ticket to the Devon Sport Makers Christmas Party, which will be held on Thursday 6th December from 6pm onwards at Sandy Park Conference Centre in Exeter.
Games Makers and Torch Bearers from across the county inspired a generation of volunteers to sign up to the national Sport Makers scheme, who have gone out into their community to support, deliver and organise grassroots sport.
Active Devon are running a series of free Club Support Evenings across the county for sport clubs and organisations in May 2014. One of these club support evenings will be held at Exeter City Football Club on 12 May 2014 and is specifically aimed at supporting sports clubs and organisations within the Exeter, East & Mid Devon area.
The event will start at 6pm with refreshments and the chance to talk to Active Devon staff and other local sports contacts. The evening will run to a schedule with the opportunity for networking and the chance to take part in workshops.
