The best of Devon’s food and drink producers, hospitality and catering businesses and speciality retailers joined together in eager anticipation for the announcement of this year’s Food & Drink Devon Award winners.

Exeter’s railway wins trio of national awards

Exeter’s railway was a triple winner at the national Community Rail Awards held at Torquay’s Riviera International Centre on 1st October.

In front of an audience of more than 330 rail industry staff and volunteers, a campaign to promote the counties’ most scenic rail routes won first prize in the Marketing category. The campaign included the GreatScenicRailways.com website, a stall at London Paddington and an eye-catching advertising campaign. Teignbridge launches recycling rewards

Community organisations and residents who pledge to recycle and reduce food waste are in with a chance of winning prizes in a new initiative launched by Teignbridge District Council.

Teignbridge, which is rolling out its new waste and recycling service, has unveiled a Recycling Together Rewards scheme aimed at rewarding those who support recycling with cash prizes and drive up recycling rates even higher.

South West Estate Agents Helmores, based in Crediton, have secured three awards from the UK’s largest property industry directory and review website regarded by many as the definitive benchmark for comparing customer satisfaction levels of local agents.

THE Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust is hoping to follow up its win at the national HSJ Value in Healthcare Awards in 2014 with more success in the 2015 event.
