Fully serviced, reconditioned bikes are on sale at many of Devon’s recycling centres from this week.

This week is international Bike Week (5-11 June) and this initiative will reduce waste and offer more people access to cycling.

With some brands of bike as much as 20 per cent more expensive than a year ago, it offers those who want to saddle up a chance to do so at an affordable price.

Bikeability in Devon - 100,000 and counting!

More than 100,000 children in Devon have now received Bikeability cycle training.

The impressive milestone has been reached after 17 years of the scheme being run in the county by Devon County Council.

Exeter’s community bike share scheme is on a roll

Co Bikes, Exeter’s popular electric bike share scheme, is on a roll with its newest docked bike station at the brand-new Aldi store on Exhibition Way, Pinhoe. The site is due to go live on 29th July 2021 in line with the store’s official opening.

New cycle camera trial underway

A new cycle camera trial is being carried out by Devon County Council to help improve safety for cyclists.

The County Council has enlisted the help of Ride On, the bike recycling charity in Exeter, as well the Exeter Cycle Campaign, Met Office, RD&E Hospital and Exeter Science Park to try out the helmet-mounted video cameras to capture footage of dangerous driving.

Devon residents and businesses are encouraged to sign up for the fifth Cycle September in Devon and take part in the annual cycle challenge.

So far more than 1450 new riders have been encouraged to take up cycling by signing up to the scheme. In total, over 6.7 million miles have been clocked up by 7,254 riders since Cycle September first took place.
