Hello, I am writing this on my 100th day in office. If I’m honest, it feels more like 100 minutes because we’ve packed so much in to these first three months, and at times there’s hardly been time to catch my breath.
I am really pleased with what I’ve managed to achieve so far. The appointment of a new Chief Constable, publication of the police and crime plan and setting the budget quite rightly took a good deal of thought and hard work, and I suspect you wouldn’t want it any other way.

Police are appealing for information following a serious collision in Exeter which left a man in a critical condition. The 49-year-old man suffered serious head injuries after falling from a moving vehicle, possibly a taxi, at Westpoint last night (28 February). The incident happened around 10.25pm when a man got into what is thought to be a taxi, described as a black medium-sized people carrier with a sliding side door, possibly a Mercedes Vito. Police are appealing to the public for help following a string of shoplifting offences in Devon. The four offences, which police believe involve the same men, occurred on the same day, 1 February, at shops in Exmouth, Teignmouth, Paignton and Torquay. At the Co-op in Dartmouth Road, Paignton at noon two men entered the rear of the store and stole 27 cases of cigarettes, cigars and tobacco products and four cases of chewing gum, total value in excess of £2,000. A silver chalice and a silver wafer box have been returned to the church from where they were stolen at the end of January 2013. The theft happened between 20 and 24 January at the Church of St Michaels & All Angels in Otterton, East Devon. Two other chalices, a Grimaldi and a Philips, were also stolen from the vestry at the time and these have yet to be recovered. The returned chalices were left in Colaton Raleigh church sometime before 23 February 2013. Police are appealing for information following a burglary at a house in Cullompton, which took place between 6.15pm and 10.15pm on Saturday, 16 February 2013.
The property was entered and numerous items stolen, including a pair of drop earrings worth £900, a Sharp video camcorder, valued at £200, a red Samsung digital camera, worth £200 and an HP Photosmart Series 420 camera, valued at £179.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft of a large quantity of taps from a Newton Abbot scrap company.
The taps – valued at £70,000 – were taken from a scrap metal yard on Kingsteignton Road between 5pm and 9pm.
Police believe that a large red and white truck was used in the raid with possibly the occupants of a dark car and a small white panel van also involved.

The Home Office illegal money lending team, based in Birmingham, wants organisations in Plymouth to bid for cash to support ideas that promote its work.
