In recognition of its potential to bring more visitors to the town, East Devon District Council has waived the rental for the first 12 months for the use and storage of the land train in The Maer car park, Exmouth.
Visitors using the land train will also benefit from reduced parking with a full day costing just £3, instead of the usual £6.

East Devon District Council (EDDC) and Sidmouth Town Council have been busy working together to provide residents of Sidmouth with the free-to-use outdoor gym that they want.
And now they would like people of all ages who live in the parish of Sidmouth (which includes Sidbury, Sidford and Salcombe Regis) to decide how it should look by voting for the design they like best.
The voting event will be held during the Sidmouth Armed Forces Day Fete on Saturday, 28 June between 2pm to 4pm. The fete is being held on The Ham at the eastern end of Sidmouth esplanade.

East Devon District Council’s Countryside team and staff from the Norman Lockyer Observatory in Sidmouth are joining forces in a ‘Nightjars and Stars’ walk at Trinity Hill Local Nature Reserve on Thursday 12 June and again on Tuesday 1 July between 9pm and 11pm.
Nightjars arrive to breed in southern Britain from Africa around late April, coinciding with the time of the moth population explosion. Exmouth Town Council, East Devon District Council (EDDC) and local resident, Ed Hughes, have worked together to get Exmouth the brand new seafront outdoor shower that residents wanted.
The outdoor shower, next to The Octagon, is free and has two shower heads and two lower down foot washers.
Funding for this project (Section 106 money) became available as a result of a number of housing developments in the Exmouth Town Council area. Section 106 money is collected from developers and spent by EDDC, which chooses to involve the community in how it allocates funds.
