Exeter City slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat away from home against Chesterfield in Sky Bet League Two.

Kristian Dennis' second half strike was enough for the home side to take all three points in a match where City failed to make the most of the chances they had created.

A strike from Lee Holmes three minutes from time earned Exeter City a battling point away at Mansfield Town.

The Grecians had fallen behind to Kane Hemmings first-half strike and needed a couple of goalline clearances from Dean Moxey to stay in the game before Mansfield-born Holmes struck late.

City were forced into one change from the side that lost to Port Vale last time out as Pierce Sweeney was ruled out through food poisoning.

Exeter City returned to winning ways after a comfortable 4-1 win over Morecambe at St James Park in Sky Bet League Two.

Two goals from Jayden Stockley, as well as goals from Troy Brown and Dean Moxey sealed an excellent victory for the Grecians as they impressed in front of a home crowd.

Exeter City ran out 3-0 winners over Crewe Alexandra at St James Park to keep them top of the table in Sky Bet League Two.

First half goals from Jordan Tillson and Jake Taylor gave the Grecians a comfortable advantage going into the break, before substitute Jayden Stockley’s second half goal rounded off a strong performance from the Grecians.

City manager, Paul Tisdale, named an unchanged side for the fourth consecutive match as they looked to secure a sixth consecutive league victory.
