Goals from John Lundstram, George Baldock and Liam Sercombe handed Oxford United a Boxing Day win over Exeter City.
There was just the one change to the City line-up that suffered last-gasp defeat at home against Luton Town last time out, and that saw Ollie Watkins come in for Lee Holmes out wide. Liam Sercombe, the former St James Park favourite, started for the hosts after having got ten goals for the U's already this season since switching Exeter for Oxford in the summer.
The match was just moments old when Jamie Reid pounced on a loose ball, taking a touch before his...

The game will see the Grecians meet former midfielder Liam Sercombe for the first time since he left St James Park for the Kassam Stadium in the summer.
City are looking for a fourth consecutive away win, but it is over a month since they last played away from St James Park after the match at Morecambe was rained off two weeks ago.

A 99th-minute winner for visiting Luton spoilt a spirited Exeter fightback.
City made two changes from the side that beat Port Vale in the FA Cup, with Matt Oakley making his first start since the draw with Stevenage back in October. Tom Nichols was also recalled, with Troy Brown and David Wheeler both absent with injury.
Craig Woodman was involved in City’s first significant venture forward as he delivered a lovely cross which Alex Nicholls did well to control and poke towards Jamie Reid, who dummied and allowed Joel Grant to have a shot. City’s striker couldn’t find a way...

Once we have confirmation of the arrangements from the opposition, as well as a definitive date and time, a formal announcement will be released on the website and social media.
Exeter City have been drawn at home against Liverpool in the Third Round of the Emirates FA Cup.
The Grecians have made it to this stage of the competition for the first time in a decade, and now the reward is a visit from Jurgen Klopp's Reds, a tie which looks to be the pick of the round.
Ticket information will be announced in due course.
Ties are to be played on the weekend of January 8th-11th.
Exeter City are through to the Third Round of the FA Cup for the first time in a decade as substitute Ollie Watkins secured Exeter City’s place with a composed finish two minutes before the end of normal time.
In a game in which the Grecians outclassed their League One opponents, Jordan Tillson had put the hosts ahead after nineteen minutes. City crafted several chances and in truth should have secured their place in Monday night’s FA Cup third-round draw with more time to spare, but it was to be Ollie Watkins that would have the final say, potentially setting up a tie against...
TWO GOALS in each half for West Ham United Under-21s knocked the Grecians out of the Under-21 Premier League Cup at the Round of 32 stage.
City got off to the worst possible start as Jaanai Gordon fired the Hammers into a two-goal lead within eleven minutes. As the game opened up in the latter stages, goals from Djair Parfitt-Williams and Moses Makasi sealed West Ham’s place in the next round.
The Grecians named a strong team for the game, including a start for striker Jamie Reid, who was fresh off the back of scoring an equaliser for the first-team against Bristol Rovers...
JAMIE REID struck a last-gasp equaliser to deny Bristol Rovers all three points at St James Park.
A long-range effort from Stuart Sinclair had looked to secure a seventh away league win of the season for the visitors, but Reid’s strike in the fifth minute of stoppage-time ensured a share of the spoils for the Grecians. City made four changes to the team that beat Mansfield Town in mid-week, including a first league start since September for left-back Craig Woodman.
Following an end-to-end start, Bristol Rovers were responsible for the game’s first major chance. Full-back...
