There were just the two changes to the Mansfield eleven, with Nathan Thomas and Jamie McGuire the players coming in.

Exeter win the Devon Derby

RYAN HARLEY's two-goal first-half salvo was enough for City to win the Devon derby, beating Plymouth Argyle 2-1 at Home Park.

Paul Tisdale made four changes to the Exeter City starting line-up for the Devon derby, with Ollie Watkins making a first start, Jamie Reid also coming in for his first start since his loan with Conference South side Truro City. Birthday-boy Danny Butterfield and David Wheeler were the other players to come in.

City were to enjoy much the better of the opening ten minutes, with both Jamie Reid and Ollie Watkins looking lively, but it was the home...

Exeter City concede last minute equaliser

SUBSTITUTE LUKE ROONEY scored a stoppage-time screamer to deny the Grecians all three points in a hard fought game at St James Park.

Exeter twice took the lead, first through an Alex Nicholls strike and then a sensational volley from Tom Nichols, but were pegged back twice by a determined Crawley Town side.

The Grecians made two changes to the team that beat Didcot Town in the FA Cup last Sunday, with Joel Grant and Alex Nicholls coming in to replace David Wheeler and the injured Manny Oyeleke. Following an impeccably-observed minute’s silence in memory of those who died...

Exeter City through to round 2

GOALS FROM Clinton Morrison, Tom Nichols and Alex Nicholls ensured Exeter City have a place in the Second Round draw of the Emirates FA Cup at the Draycott Engineering Loop Meadow Stadium.

City manager Paul Tisdale has made four changes to his starting line-up for the FA Cup First Round tie. Jordan Moore-Taylor returned to the centre of defence after sitting out last week's trip to Barnet, and was joined at the back by Arron Davies. Clinton Morrison started up front, while there was also a place for Manny Oyeleke in the middle.

City enjoyed much the better of the first-half...

City beaten at the Hive

Match report: Barnet 2 Exeter City 0

Exeter City's search for a Saturday afternoon away win this season continues after a 2-0 Hallowe’en defeat at Barnet.

City made three changes for this one, and with Jordan Moore-Taylor not involved, Tom McCready came in at right-back and featured alongside a central defensive pairing of Christian Ribeiro and the returning Troy Brown. Ryan Harley was back in the starting line-up, and operated along the flank.

City spent a lot of the first period in defensive positions, with Tom Nichols finding himself in the defensive third a lot...

Grecians draw at home

TOM NICHOLS' opener was cancelled out by Liam Noble as the Grecians drew 1-1 at home to Notts County.

Alex Nicholls started out wide in place of Lee Holmes in the Grecians' only change to the starting eleven from the midweek win over Cambridge United at St James Park. Ryan Harley returned to take a place on the bench alongside Tom McCready, while Notts County made two changes of their own; Jack Barmby and Adam Campbell the players coming in.

After David Wheeler forced a succession of corners in City's favour in the early stages of the first half, Tom Nichols had Paul...

Exeter City come up short

EXETER CITY went down in defeat at Brunton Park as Alex Gilliead struck Carlisle United's winning goal ten minutes from time.

The Grecians had three changes from the starting eleven that drew 3-3 with Stevenage a week earlier at St James Park, with Arron Davies and Danny Butterfield coming into the midfield and Alex Nicholls starting out wide.

An end-to-end first half saw Carlisle, mostly through nineteen-year-old Newcastle United loanee Alex Gilliead, cause the Grecians problems with a peppering of crosses into the box, but City handled the defensive side of their game...

Exeter City squander 2 goal lead

STEVENAGE twice came from behind to hold Exeter City to a point in front of the Sky cameras at St James Park.

Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale made six changes to the Exeter City line-up for the televised visit of Stevenage, with Jamie McAllister making a welcome return to the side after injury. Clinton Morrison, Matt Oakley, David Noble, Lee Holmes and Christian Ribeiro were the other players to come in.

After Clinton Morrison shot wide in the opening seconds, it was just four minutes into the game that Lee Holmes crossed for David Wheeler to head City in front. But the...
