Hospiscare is celebrating after raising £109,000 during a decade of the hugely popular Charity Golf Tournament held in Exeter.
A total of 46 teams, mainly from Exeter but also from all over the country, played in glorious sunshine at the Exeter Golf and Country Club. Golf in the South West has received a boost this month as Exeter golfers past and present celebrated the official opening of the Vic Ambler Golf Centre on 15 May.
The event, at the University’s Streatham campus officially unveiled the new, purpose-built, short-game practice area at the Sports Park which will offer golfers from across the region the latest golf green technology.

Saturday 3 May saw 90 competitors battle in the annual 36 hole marathon of the Directors Cup, a Devon County Golf Union Order of Merit event.
The weather was kind with very little wind and mainly sunshine which allowed for some good scoring, even though the course was playing very long.
With the first match off at 6.45am, the pace was set early with Sam Dunn (Teignmouth) returning a 2 over par 71, to lead the morning scorers for a while until Ryan Wheeler (Stover) returned a level par 69 and Adam Bridgewater (Tavistock) opened up with a one over 70.

50 teams of keen golfers were greeted by glorious sunshine at the ninth annual Hospiscare Golf Day on 11 July.
Playing to take home the Marnie Burgoyne Memorial Trophy, the first team teed off on the 18 hole course at Exeter Golf and Country Club at 8.45am, and a steady flow of teams followed until the final team finished at 7.30pm.
The teams followed their time on the green with a two-course carvery before a raffle was drawn and the winners were announced.
