Two friends are taking on the challenge of cycling from Exeter to Paris (via Roscoff) to raise funds for local charity Hospiscare. Leif Tarry and Dave Clift will set off from the hospice in Dryden Road tomorrow (Friday 16 May) on the start their 525 mile challenge.
Dave and Leif have calculated that the challenge will take roughly a week to complete; this is if they stick to their 75 miles a day.

More than 350 women from Exeter, mid and east Devon enjoyed a walk along the seaside town of Exmouth Seafront on May 10 in support of Hospiscare, their local hospice charity.
The 12k walk started and finished at Exmouth rugby club with spectacular views along the seaside and through the nearby countryside to raise money for the charity.

Two friends from Exeter have raised over £2,200 between them for local charity Hospiscare. Suzanne Lovelace and Sadie Evans, landlady at The Royal Oak, St Thomas set themselves the “Channel Challenge”; swimming the width of the channel within a two week window in February. The channel is 22 miles long, the equivalent of 1,408 lengths of a 25 meter pool. Suzanne, who is 70 in June said she would “do it all over again” upon completion of the challenge. There are over 35 gardens taking part of all shapes and sizes including; urban spaces, hotel grounds and gardens full of wild flowers. Throughout the summer gardens will be opened to the public with a range of plants, animals and trees to admire as well as homemade refreshments to enjoy.
