I had always been a little dubious about holiday parks, imagining them to be over-crowded, noisy, with the accommodation being basic and disappointing but, I have to say that after a stay at Ladram Bay Holiday Park, I am converted!

Holiday park raises thousands for Exeter Foundation

A holiday park in Devon has helped raise nearly £5,000 for the Exeter Foundation Charity to help a host of local good causes.

Staff at Ladram Bay Holiday Park raised £4565 for the charity of the Exeter Chiefs, through a series of events held at the park on the Jurassic Coast between Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton.

Another win for Devon holiday park

A family-run holiday park has won a top accolade at one of the biggest tourism award ceremonies in the South West.

Ladram Bay Holiday Park has won a silver award in the Holiday Park and Holiday Village category of the Visit Devon Tourism Awards 2015.

Some 200 tourism companies from across Devon gathered to find out if they had won a top industry award at the event on Thursday night (26 Nov). There were 23 categories in total covering many aspects of the tourism industry including accommodation, food and drink and attractions.

Park opens swimming complex year round

A Devon holiday park is set to open its doors all year round, launching a new pool membership as a thank you to local residents.

For the first time in its 73-year history, Ladram Bay Holiday Park, on the Jurassic Coast between Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton, will open its swimming pool complex from November to March.

The redeveloped complex, including a main pool, children’s zone, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, gym and poolside café, will open at the family run park, which first saw campers pitch up in 1943.

Devon holiday parks celebrate unique double

Two award-winning holiday parks owned by the same Devon family have been awarded the highest accolade achievable in the tourism industry.

Ladram Bay Holiday Park and sister park Castle Brake have both been awarded five Gold Stars each through the VisitEngland National Quality Assessment Scheme.

Ladram Bay is situated in Otterton near Budleigh Salterton on the Jurassic Coast. Sister site Castle Brake is set on the edge of Woodbury Common, only a short drive away from the coast.

Devon mascots compete for golfing accolade

Mascots from across Devon have come together to compete in the county’s first ‘costumed golfing’ championship.

A dozen mascots took part in the inaugural tournament, held at Ladram Bay Holiday Park’s new Jurassic Adventure Golf course.

It was Woodlands’ Hero who triumphed, progressing through the group stage to beat Pickles the Parrot from Ladram Bay and Cavog of Kents Cavern in the final play-off held over three holes.

Mascots from across Devon are set to compete to become the county’s first Adventure Golf champion.

The tournament has been organised by Ladram Bay Holiday Park at its new Jurassic Adventure Golf course as part of the park’s Toddler Week running at the start of July.

Holiday park hosts charity music events

One of Devon’s biggest independent holiday parks is set to host two live music events to raise money for local charities.

Ladram Bay Holiday Park, between Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton, is the venue for the two upcoming events.

One of Devon’s biggest independent holiday parks is enjoying a record-breaking start to the year, with bookings up nearly 50%.

Multi-award winning Ladram Bay Holiday Park, on the Jurassic coast overlooking its own bay and beach between Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton, saw bookings rise by 46% in the first full week of January, and then by 52% the following week, compared with the same period in 2014.
