Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision between a car and a pedestrian that left one man fatally injured.

Stephen McKay, from Newton Abbot, was fatally injured in the collision which happened on Thursday 1 December 2016.

Police were called at around 3pm following reports of a collision between a man in his 50’s and a Citroen Picasso on the A379 at Holcombe, Dawlish.

A number of road closures were put in place as paramedics and Air ambulance attended. The Air ambulance landed by the Smugglers Inn and the injured man was taken to Derriford Hospital...

Operation Vortex saw officers from the Devon and Cornwall, and Dorset strategic alliance roads policing team out in force on roads between the 14th November and 29th November 2016. During this time around 400 drivers were stopped and dealt with for a variety of traffic offences.

At around 9.20pm on Monday 5 December 2016 a man armed with a knife, estimated to be around 10” in length, entered the Spar shop on Magdalen Road in Exeter, where he threatened staff and took cash from the till.

The man then left the shop and ran along Magdalen Road, believed to be in the direction of the Mount Radford pub.

There were three members of staff in the shop at the time. All are safe and no-one was injured. No customers were in the store at the actual time of the incident.

Throughout December Devon and Cornwall Police will be making sure that the region’s roads are a safe place for everyone.

Any drivers involved in a collision and any motorists whose driving may lead police to suspect they are under the influence of alcohol will be breathalysed. If drug driving is suspected, drivers may have to undergo a roadside sobriety test.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision between a car and a pedestrian that has left one person with serious, life threatening injuries.

Police were called at around 3pm following reports of a collision between a man in his 50’s and a Citroen Picasso on the A379 at Holcombe, Dawlish.

Police are appealing to the public following a serious collision that has left a man and a woman with serious injuries.

At approximately 4.31pm on Tuesday 29 November, two vehicles, a silver Microcar Dynamic SEI and a Toyota Hilux, were involved in a collision on the A30 junction A3015, Honiton Road, Exeter.

As a result of the incident, a 69-year-old woman and an 83-year-old man were taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital before being transferred to Derriford Hospital.

Officers from the Devon and Cornwall Police roads policing team are out again this week in unmarked cars targeting motorists who flout traffic laws, in an effort to help keep our roads safe.

In support of National Counter Terrorism Awareness Week, which will run from Monday the 28th of November to Sunday 4 December, Devon and Cornwall, and Dorset Police will be taking part in a week of action which will include providing advice on how to keep safe, and encouraging people to report any concerns.

Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of a body in Exeter.

Police attended a property in Okehampton Road at around 2pm yesterday afternoon (21st November) and discovered the body of an unidentified man.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision at Chudleigh yesterday (Wednesday 16 November) in which a 60-year-old local woman died.

Emergency services were called at 3.40pm after the collision between a Ford Fusion and a Mitsubishi L200 Trojan at Milestone Cross.
