Concern over 61-year-old man missing from hospital

Police are concerned for the welfare of Roger Duggan who went missing from the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Wonford, at around 12.40am this morning (Monday 11th February 2013).

The 61-year-old, from Brampford Speke, is described as white, slim build with short grey receding hair. He is believed to have been wearing blue jeans and a red fleece when he went missing.

Anyone with information about Roger’s whereabouts is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 36 of 11/02/13.

Police search for missing Newton Abbot man

Update: Stephen Walker has been found safe and well.

Devon & Cornwall Police are trying to locate the whereabouts of Stephen Walker, aged 49, who was last seen on Fisher Road, Newton Abbot at around 2pm on 9th February 2013.

Stephen is desribed as a white male of stocky build and approximately five feet ten inches tall. He has brown/black-coloured hair that is starting to turn grey. He is thought to be wearing jeans, a navy T-shirt, a green/blue tweed coat and green wellington boots.

Police identify body of a man found on Exmouth beach

Police have identified the body of a man found on an Exmouth beach in July 2012. Clifford John Thorne, who was known as John, has been positively identified by a DNA sample and by his family. He was 67 years old.

He had last been seen at his home in Oxford on the morning of 27th January 2012 when he told his family that he was going out to buy a newspaper. He had not been seen since.

At about 8.30am on Wednesday 18th July 2012 his body was found on the shoreline of Cockles Sands near Exmouth. A subsequent DNA test revealed his identity.

Tiverton man dies six days after collision on the A361

A 48-year-old man, now identified as Steven Tolley from Tiverton, died yesterday at Derriford Hospital following a collistion on the A361 on 29th January. Mr Tolley was working for South West Highways at the time.

Police and the Health and Safety Executive are conducting an investigation into the collision.

Officers have renewed their appeal for witnesses to the collision and would particularly like to speak to those who saw the Iveco van in the area at the time or how and where the men were working in the road.

Appeal after aggravated burglary in Chudleigh

Police are appealing for witnesses after an aggravated burglary took place in Chudleigh on Friday 1st February.

The burglary is reported to have taken place at a property in Moor View at around 6pm, where the suspect is believed to have been in possession of a knife with an eight-inch blade.

According to a police spokesperson, the suspect is described as white, in his late teens or early 20s, 5ft 10in and of slight build. He was wearing a dark hoodie with the hood up, dark jeans and white shoes. A bum bag, wallet and a small amount of cash were taken.

22 dead and over 40 injured after collision in Dubai

Local police in Dubai say a bus carrying cleaning staff collided with a heavy truck at 8am on Monday morning, with 22 people dead and over 40 injured say local police.

The incident happened on the Al Ain to Abu Dhabi truck road, near Al Rawdah Palace.

Witnesses said most workers died after suffocating in the pile of sand and construction material, witnesses told local media, whilst police deployed helicopters to extract the injured workers covered under a pile of sand at the site of the accident. (NewsPoint)

Delays due to collision at Sandygate Roundabout

Update: The lane is reportedly now open again, however traffic is still busy.

One lane is closed on the A376 Sidmouth Road Westbound at the Sandygate Roundabout because of an earlier accident involving a lorry and a black Honda CRV car.

Firefighters were called to the scene just before 2pm to remove the roof of the Honda in order to free one person still in the car, who although not physically trapped, had suspected neck and back injuries.

Police are trying to locate the whereabouts of Kharim Rhony, a 15-year-old boy missing from foster parents. He was last seen at his address in the Stoke area of Plymouth intending to go swimming at the Life Centre.

He is described as being of Arabic appearance with dark olive skin. He is 5ft2in tall, with a slight build and short, curly hair.

He was last seen wearing a blue hoody, blue jeans, white canvas shoes and gloves. He was also carrying a black backpack.

Police appeal for witnesses after Sidwell Street assault

Police are appealing for information following an assault on a woman in Exeter. Between 1am and 2am on Saturday 26th January, the 21-year-old was walking alone along Sidwell Street onto Blackboy Road when she was assaulted by a man.

He is described as white, 6’ 1” and between 30 and 40 years old. He was of medium build and had short blonde hair, a small blonde beard and wore a white and red flannel top.
