Police are concerned for the welfare of 20-year-old Kaya Kelly, who is missing from the Haytor Unit, Torbay District Hospital, Torquay, Devon.

Kaya is described as slim with shoulder length dark brown which can be tied in a pony tail. Last seen wearing a white fluffy top with bits of red, black jeans, white pumps and carrying a handbag.

She went missing on the 7th January 2016 and hasn’t been seen or heard from since. She has links to Torbay, Newton Abbot, Exeter and Surrey.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman and child were seriously injured following a road traffic collision in Torquay at the weekend.

The collision happened shortly before 1.20pm on Sunday 22 November 2015 near the junction of Torbay Road and Sea Way Lane.

A group of five pedestrians, two adults and three children, were walking along Torbay Road when a silver Daihatsu Sirion mounted the pavement and collided with a six-year-old girl and her 35-year-old mother.

Over 1,200 participants are set to take part in The Devon Winter School Games on Thursday 19 March, at Torbay Leisure Centre and Paignton Community & Sports Academy.

This event enables young people from schools throughout Devon to participate in competitions spanning nine different sports including cross country, goalball, handball, hockey, netball, rugby and table tennis. Young people from local schools and colleges will also be involved in organising the event on the day as over 100 of them will be recruited as ‘Games Maker’ style volunteers.

A powerful new film highlighting the abuse suffered by adults at risk has been launched to coincide with Safeguarding Adults Awareness Week in Devon and Torbay.

Police appeal to trace wanted man

Police in Torbay have issued a photograph of a man who is wanted for recall to prison. They are actively looking for Gary Ward, 32 years old, from Torquay who is wanted for recall to prison after breaching his prison licence conditions. Ward is described as a white male, 32 years of age, 5’ 9” or slim build with short black hair. Ward, who was convicted of Causing Death by Dangerous Driving, is believed to be in the Exeter area.
