British Transport Police (BTP) is appealing for information and witnesses following an incident which took place on board a train travelling between Exeter St Davids and Bristol Temple Meads railway stations.
Officers have today released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the assault which took place shortly after 10pm on Tuesday, 22 July 2014.
Investigating officer, PC Simon Courtney, said: “The train manager was conducting ticket checks on board the 21.49hrs Exeter St Davids to Bristol Temple Meads service.

Investigating officer, PC David Browning, said: “On Monday, 1 September 2014 two women were travelling by train towards Torquay. They arrived at Newton Abbot Station but failed to get off the service they were on until it was ready to depart towards Totnes.
First Great Western have named one of their high speed trains in celebration of the Red Arrows’ 50th display season.

Children in Exeter and Exmouth will have the opportunity to tell Santa what is on their Christmas wish list this year as he visits the area on-board First Great Western (FGW) trains.

The Stagecoach transport group has donated £10,000 to help relief efforts in the Philippines.
The transport group has made the donation to the Philippines Typhoon Appeal run by the Disasters Emergency Committee.

Members of the RMT working for sub-contractors Mitie on First Great Western will strike for 24 hours from tomorrow morning (Friday 11 October) in what the union has described as "a fight for a living wage and workplace justice".

A man has died after the car he was in was struck by a freight train at a level crossing in an Oxfordshire village today.
The crash at the Sandy Lane crossing in Yarnton, north of Oxford, was reported to the British Transport Police at 3.40pm. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
A police spokesperson said, "It is believed two people were in the vehicle at the time. Sadly one of them, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The train involved was a Trafford Park to Southampton freight service, and the driver is reported to be shaken but uninjured....
