British Transport Police (BTP) and Network Rail have issued a stark warning after several recent incidents of trespass on the railway line in Dawlish, Devon.

While Network Rail completes work on the new sea wall which runs alongside the railway, the footpath has been closed and a safe, temporary route has been put in place between Dawlish and Dawlish Warren station.

Since the footpath has been temporarily closed several incidents of people climbing on the wall and walking alongside the railway, where trains on the line can travel up to 75mph, have been reported....

A leading civil engineer, who is playing a key role in major works to improve the resilience of the main railway line on the battered coastal route through South Devon, has achieved a top professional award.

Europe’s largest outdoor accommodation provider Pitchup.com has revealed that Devon’s caravanning and camping sites saw a 15% increase in bookings in 2019, in comparison to 2018. Devon is now Pitchup.com ’s second best selling UK destination behind neighbouring Cornwall, with camping and caravanning bookings through the site bringing in more than £2.8 million to the local economy, equating to a whopping £5.9 million in overall visitor spend [1] .

Cofton Holidays granted planning permission for luxury lodges collection

South Devon’s multi award-winning holiday park, Cofton Holidays, has received planning permission to build a collection of 12 luxury lodges, which are due to be completed in 2020.
