Housebuilding at the landmark development Nursery Gardens in Exeter has stormed ahead with the first two homes completed and another 18 homes set to complete by the end of 2021.

Yesterday, Managing Director of Halsall, Andy Corp and Stonewater’s Director of Development Operations, James Bradbury marked the completion of the landscaping to the first two homes with an on-site celebration.

Devon’s health visiting teams will be handing out free magnetic notepads carrying safety advice this September to help families ensure that young children and toddlers are kept safe in the home.

The notepads feature key safety advice and will serve as a helpful reminder to thousands of busy families.

The notepads are part of the ‘Take Action Today, Put Them Away’ campaign to help protect children from the risks of everyday household cleaning products.

InExeter announces funding for community projects

Four community events and projects have secured funding from InExeter, the city’s business improvement district, to encourage people back into the city and support the Exeter’s cultural, music and arts scene.

Exeter based Old Mill launches Stamp Duty Land Tax team

Exeter financial experts Old Mill has created a specialist in-house team covering the complexities surrounding Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT).

Previously, this function was outsourced to a third-party, but Old Mill's Tax Team will now handle all queries.

Headed up by Senior Tax Manager Laura Wylie and supported by tax specialists Mark Trevethan and Zoe Chandler, the SDLT team will be able to advise clients on available reliefs and calculate SDLT liabilities.

Exeter-based illustrator-animator Leo Jamelli is collaborating with University of Exeter academics Dr Siobhan O’Dwyer and Dr Catriona McKenzie on an emotive contemporary art project entitled Spotlight on Care.

He's created a hand-drawn animation of an unpaid carer from Exeter which will be projected onto the Exeter Phoenix after dark in late October. Exeter based ultrafast broadband company, Jurassic Fibre has today announced that even more Devon residents and businesses will be able to benefit from its state-of-the-art ultrafast broadband network in the near future, having started construction in a further six towns across the County. The towns are Bideford, Teignmouth, Crediton, Seaton, Colyton and Axminster as well as many of the surrounding villages.
