Arrests of children by Devon and Cornwall Police have been reduced by 75 per cent over the last decade, figures reveal today (Monday 23 August) in another major step forward for a successful Howard League for Penal Reform campaign. Since 2010, the Howard League has been working with police forces across England and Wales to reduce child arrests, helping to ensure that hundreds of thousands of boys and girls do not have their lives blighted by a criminal record. Bereaved families invited to remember loved ones

A free memorial service is being held at East Devon Crematorium to remember all those who have died during the pandemic.

Organised and led by the crematorium staff, it is hoped the event will provide comfort for relatives and friends who have been bereaved during this particularly difficult and distressing time.

The Environment Agency have launched a 12-month pilot with Hello Lamp post to give residents and visitors to Exmouth the opportunity to have a ‘conversation’ with the Exmouth Tidal Defence Scheme. Teenage cancer survivors get post-lockdown lift with Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust

Young people, who have been treated for cancer at The Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and Derriford Hospital, enjoyed three days of sailing with the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust from Plymouth Yacht Haven, as the Trust aims to transform more young lives this summer.
