To celebrate winning a Gold award in the 2018 Devon Tourism Awards, The Donkey Sanctuary are offering visitors the chance to pick up a free goody bag worth £50 at their Sidmouth centre. Every day, between Wednesday 26 December and Sunday 6 January, a Golden Carrot will be hung from the Christmas tree in the main reception area. The first person to find the carrot and take it to the gift shop wins the day’s goody bag. Reopening of Exeter's Riverside Leisure Centre delayed

The reopening of the pool and health suite at Exeter’s Riverside Leisure Centre will not take place early in the New Year as previously expected.

The building suffered fire and smoke damage to surface coatings, mechanical and engineering plant, roof decking and structural elements, as well as smoke damage throughout the facility, following the blaze in February 2017.

The sports hall, gym and fitness studios reopened to the public soon after the fire. But the pool and health suite remain closed.

South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) is urging people only to call 999 in a genuine emergency this Christmas.
