Dab hand on the drums? Genius on the guitar? In a local band and looking for some gigs over the summer? Knightshayes, on the outskirts of Tiverton, is looking for bands to join them for the second year of Soupstock, the summer celebration of great, locally-sourced music and food.

Appeal to find owner of family photographs

Caroline Wetton, from Coventry, is appealing for help in locating the rightful owner of over 1,000 photographs believed to belong to someone in Devon.

Caroline was given a bagfull of photographs after they had been found in an old cupboard. Rather than dispose of the photographs she believes they should be returned to their rightful owner.

The photographs date from the early 1900s, through the First World War and to about 1993.

Caroline is so passionate about finding the rightful owner to these historic photographs that she has even begun researching their history...

Exeter Axhayes Cats Protection Adoption Centre are looking for volunteers to help out at fundraising/publicity events throughout the year. The Friends of Axhayes Group are a small group of volunteers who meet regularly to arrange fundraising events but they desperately need people to help out at these events.

You do not need to commit to any regular hours and you can do as little or as much as you like.

Appeal to trace items stolen in Exmouth

Police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary in Exmouth.

Officers are investigating the burglary of jewellery, commemorative coins, and foreign currency stolen from a house in Portland Avenue while the occupants were away on holiday sometime between 23 and 28 November 2013.

At the start of the second week since Super Typhoon Haiyan made landfall, the DEC has received donations of £33 million for the Philippines Typhoon appeal. Police appeal for witnesses after sexual assault in Exmouth

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted in Exmouth at the weekend. The alleged incident happened outside the Q Club in Manchester Street in the early hours of Sunday 10 November 2013. A man approached a 20-year-old woman from Exeter who was stood outside the nightclub and sexually assaulted her. The suspect is described as a stocky Asian man and was wearing a grey hooded top. Adoption centre launches 'Santa Paws Appeal'

Exeter Axhayes Adoption Centre has launched an appeal for Christmas.

The centre has 200-plus cats and kittens in its care, all looking for new homes. Sadly this means that many cats and kittens have to spend Christmas and New Year in the centre.

This year the Adoption Centre has launch its Santa Paws Appeal.

The idea is a simple one. They are asking that people fill a box, similar in size to a Felix cat food box with cat toys, food, treats, possibly a Christmas card. Then wrap it up and donate it to the centre.

New homes needed for children waiting to be adopted

Thirty three children in Devon are currently waiting to be adopted, if adopters were available, says Devon County Council as it launches a campaign to encourage more prospective adopters.

Devon County Council's Devon Adoption service has children ranging in ages from six months to eight years, including sibling groups, waiting for a loving, safe, permanent home.

The service has, this year, cut the length of time it takes to approve adoption applications in a move to make the process simpler, and to encourage more adoptive parents to come forward.

Update 24 October: Police confirmed today that they are no longer searching for the individuals in the photo as the suspects have been identified.

22 October: Police need help in identifying a man and woman following a theft from a supermarket in Newton Abbot.

On 6 October 2013 shortly before 3.30pm a customer requested £50 cash back from one of the self service checkouts at the Asda store in Highweek Street.

The customer picked up his shopping and walked away forgetting the cash. When he returned shortly afterwards the cash had been taken.
