In 1962 artist Alison Knowles first performed Make a Salad.
A simple action inspired by Alison, we’ll be using her recipe to make a big salad. We'll make enough to feed everybody and use a tarpaulin as a mixing bowl. If you are not a fan of salad there will also be sandwich-making and waffles and ice cream!

Following on from our many formal and informal discussions about the future of art institutions, we'll be hosting a pub crawl in Exeter.
As we walk from pub to pub, we'll be scribbling ideas on beer mats and meet local culture producers along the way. Meet at Spacex at 7.30pm. This event is for 18+ only. Some parts of the pub crawl might be recorded for a radio programme.

During the project the artist will live at Spacex, bringing to life her manifesto Some ideas for a new art institution. This will include re-thinking the way the building is used including bring-a-film night.

Superact is pleased to announce their new project Exe-Arts for the St David’s community in Exeter.
Superact is a not for profit arts organisation based at the Exeter Community Centre in St David’s, and from September will be offering community art sessions for all ages in the art rooms of the centre. Superact delivered a pilot for this initiative in March of this year and has now received funding to run a full programme of activity.

The show runs from Saturday 1 August through until Sunday 16 August and admission is free.
The exhibition covers classical themes with floral, still-life, figurative and landscape as well as seascape subject matters. There will also be some abstracts but much of the work covers beautiful scenes of the West Country. You will be able to enjoy some high quality paintings large and small at affordable prices.

Celebrating 60 years of supporting South West makers the Devon Guild’s annual summer exhibition articulates notions of festivity and reflection that such milestones bring. As part of TOPOS, an ongoing project by award-winning Exeter-based artist Volkhardt Müller to make and showcase a series of brand new works in response to the city and its populace, the TS Eliot-nominated poet Sean Borodale is artist-in-residence for a period of five days.
From 30 June to 4 July, Sean and Volkhardt will enter into a dialogue to produce a series of pamphlets in response to the city. The work will involve the staging of theatrical moments in the TOPOS space and it will be periodically open to the public – with the option to spectate or to participate.
