Gen Z students are starting university pessimistic about their employment prospects, with only 20% believing they will secure their dream job, according to a study conducted by EY across the UK. The figure drops to 10% as students’ progress into the second and third year of their degree.

Throughout March and April, Devon Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a number ‘Your Future’ Careers Fairs in conjunction with schools, colleges and local partners in the county, aimed at supporting the successful transition of young people from education to the world of work. A third (33 per cent) of South West parents want their children to have professional careers, a poll from Action for Children has revealed with two thirds (65 per cent) wanting their children to go to university once their compulsory education is completed.
