Adoption centre fundraiser

Exeter Axhayes adoption centre is a local cat re-homing centre run by Cats Protection the UK's leading cat welfare charity.

The centre is holding a quiz night at Exeter Saracens RFC on 3rd July 2015 to help raise funds for the centre. The centre looks after local homeless cats until they are found a new home. Their policy is never to put a healthy cat asleep therefore sometimes a cat can be looked after for quite some time.

Exeter Family Friendly support Business Games

Exeter Family Friendly have donated £1100 to the Exeter Foundation in support of the Exeter Business Games run by Bigwave Media.

The award-winning insurance provider partially pound-matched £50 for each of the 22 teams that are competing in the games, which hosts a variety of team-based sports events through May and June.

Currently eighth place in the results table, this is the fifth year running that Exeter Family Friendly have competed in the games against other local businesses.

Back by popular demand is another of Exeter Axhayes cats protection adoption centres coffee mornings. Held at Axhayes adoption centre, just past the Cat and Fiddle Inn, Clyst St Mary, it starts at 11am.

Pop along, bring the family and friends, meet the cats and kittens and have a cuppa and some homemade cake.

All funds goes direct to helping local cats and kittens.

ELF to launch fundraising campaign at show

Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) is inviting visitors to the Devon County Show to drop in to the Otter Nurseries stand where they can ‘buy a brick’ and donate to the charity’s Chevithorne Appeal.

ELF Fundraiser, Alison Upton explained: “The Chevithorne Appeal will fund a family suite at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital so that critically ill and end of life patients can be together with their loved ones. By Buying a Brick, the general public can help us to achieve this goal.”

Devon man’s trek for Nepal disaster

From Monday 4th May, Paul Mattin will march 170 miles from his Devon home to the Nepali Embassy in London where he will deliver prayer flags and pay respect for the thousands of lives that have been lost.

Paul Mattin from Woodbury Salterton is a former Royal Marines Officer (Captain) who specialises in leadership and training. He has led numerous expeditions to Everest and is in close contact with friends from a Sherpa family living in the Everest Valley.
