The Exeter City FC Supporters' Trust are very pleased to report that long-serving Trustee, Neil Le Milliere has been re-elected to the England and Wales Council of Supporters’ Direct.

In addition, Trustee Pete Martin has been elected to the same Board putting our own Supporters’ Trust in a stronger position within the Supporter movement.

Neil had this to say about his and Pete’s success: “Standing for election or re-election is always a little bit nerve racking especially as you don’t have a clue as to how many other people are standing until its announced. I was...

Exeter City lose in extra time

Match report: Exeter City 1 Accrington 2

Exeter City opened the calendar year with a disappointing defeat at home to Accrington Stanley, who came from behind to win 2-1.

Tom Nichols’ ninth goal of the season had Exeter in the ascendency at the interval, but Seamus McCartan had the visitors level midway through the second period.

Just minutes after Tom Aldred denied Nichols a winner with a goal-line block, the Stanley centre-half slotted in a rebound at the other end to secure the points in stoppage-time.

As in City’s previous home game against Cheltenham,...

City's Matt Grimes signs for Swansea City

Exeter City midfielder Matt Grimes has completed a transfer to Barclays Premier League side Swansea City.

The 19-year-old moves for an undisclosed but substantial transfer fee, which makes him comfortably the record sale in Exeter City’s history.

Exminster-born Grimes, who first joined club’s the Academy system at the Cat & Fiddle at the age of 10, was offered a professional contract in the summer of 2013 after working his way through the age-groups.

He made his debut in last season’s 2-0 home win against AFC Wimbledon and went on to play a total of 62 times in...

Exeter City at home to start the New Year

Match preview: Exeter City v Accrington Stanley

It was only recently that the Exeter City and Accrington Stanley met at the Crown Ground in Sky Bet League 2, with the Grecians 3-2 winners that evening.

Five weeks on, the teams meet again – this time in front of the St James Park crowd for the inaugural game of 2015. With two home clean-sheets on the bounce, City will be aiming to secure a third and using that as a base for victory.

The congested Christmas period was somewhat lessened for Stanley, who didn’t have a fixture last Sunday after their home tie against...

Exeter City slip up at Wimbledon

Match report: Wimbledon 4 Exeter City 1

2014 ended in a disappointing fashion for Exeter City, who were defeated 4-1 at AFC Wimbledon in the final fixture of the calendar year.

Fine margins at either end of the field proved the difference, as the Dons scored once before the break and three times after – and came close to keeping Exeter out for the duration before conceding late.

Matt Tubbs netted from close-range in the first period, and Adebayo Azeez netted a brace after the break. Adebayo Akinfenwa slotted in a fourth for the Dons before Liam Sercombe placed in a...

Exeter City back to winning ways

Match report: Exeter City 1 Cheltenham 0

Exeter City claimed a late Christmas present at the Park with a 1-0 Boxing Day win against Cheltenham Town.

It was Tom Nichols’ goal on the hour which proved the difference on the scoresheet come the final whistle, as Exeter recorded a first ever win against the Robins.

It also marked a second clean-sheet for 19-year-old stopper James Hamon, following a shut-out against Carlisle United a fortnight ago.

There were two changes to the starting XI for the Grecians – following the previous weekend’s defeat at Stevenage,...

Exeter City at home this afternoon

Match preview: Exeter City v Cheltenham Town

Just like last year, Exeter City’s Boxing Day game in 2014 sees the Grecians pitted against Cheltenham Town.

This season, however, St James Park is the venue. Last year, former Grecian Jamie Cureton was the match-winner for the Robins, and this year former Exeter men Paul Buckle and Rob Edwards are the management duo for Cheltenham.

Historically, this has been one of the more frustrating fixtures for Exeter – last year’s 1-1 draw at St James Park was the first time the Grecians have got even as much as a draw out of...

Exeter City's unbeaten run ends

Match report: Stevenage 1 Exeter City 0

Exeter City fell to a first defeat in ten Sky Bet League 2 games, succumbing to a 1-0 defeat in Stevenage.

The game looked like it was going to play out in a goalless draw, until Boro sub Charlie Lee was on hand to sweep in a winner with less than ten minutes remaining on the clock.

The Grecians created several good chances either side of the break, but ultimately couldn’t find the net against a stubborn home defence.

Ryan Harley made his first start for Exeter City since returning to the club, while also coming into...

Exeter City up to seventh

Match report: Exeter City 2 Carlisle 0

Exeter City ran out comfortable 2-0 winners at home against Carlisle United.

After a goalless first period, Exeter came to life and wrapped up the result through goals by Scot Bennett midway through the half and Matt Grimes with a couple of minutes to spare.

The result – and a first home clean-sheet of the season – put the Grecians into seventh at the end of the afternoon, seeing Exeter occupy a play-off place for the first time in over a year.

David Wheeler and Bennett came back into the starting XI for the Grecians’...
