Teenager witnessed 'horrific scene' following collision

A teenager has told The Exeter Daily how she witnessed the horrific scene following the accident in which a 12-year-old boy died.

The girl, who has asked not to be named, said she was returning from work when she saw paramedics treating the boy.

She said: “There was a lot of commotion and emergency vehicles on the scene, and they had put a large white sheet to cover up what was going on.

“I’ve never seen anything like that before so it must have been pretty horrific.”

A 12-year-old boy has died after after he was involved in a collision with a skip lorry on a zebra crossing in Exeter yesterday afternoon (Thursday 28 August).

Police attended a road traffic collision at around 3.10pm on Topsham Road, near Countess Wear.

The collision happened on the zebra crossing on the Topsham side of Countess Wear roundabout and involved a 12-year-old boy, who was a pedestrian, and a skip lorry.

Police in Newton Abbot have issued images of two suspects they wish to identify following a spate of high value shoplifting offences. The two suspects are believed to be responsible for a series of high value shoplifting offences that have occurred in Newton Abbot, Plymouth and East Devon. A motorcyclist was left in a serious condition following a collision on the A35 near Honiton. Police, ambulance and the air ambulance attended the incident which took place at 12.50pm at the junction of Ramsden Lane, Offwell. The collision involved a black Suzuki motorcycle, being ridden by a man in his fifties, and a red Toyota Yaris, being driven by a man in his eighties. Police attended a serious road traffic collision on the A361 North Devon link road on Friday morning, 22nd August, at around 11.30am near South molton.

Three vehicles were involved in the collison, a Peugeot 206, a Triumph Spitfire and a Renault Megane.

Police in East Devon are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision on the A35 in Kilmington. The incident happened at approximately 9.09 last night (Thursday 21 August), on the A35 at the area adjacent to the bus shelter and the Old Inn Public House car park in Kilmington.

A single vehicle (Volkswagen Polo) travelling towards Honiton was in collision with a pedestrian.

Boy, 11, seriously injured in collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a boy was seriously injured in a road traffic collision in Tiverton.

A car and lorry were involved in the collision that happened at around 5.50pm on the A361 eastbound near Gornhay Cross.

An 11-year-old boy, from the Tiverton area, was trapped in the car before being released by the fire service.

He was taken to the Bristol Royal Infirmary by air ambulance with serious leg injuries.

Police in Chudleigh are appealing for information following attacks on business premises. A total of nine commercial burglaries occurred overnight sometime between 9.45pm on Monday 18 August and 5am on Tuesday 19 August at the Xpressway Business Park located on the outskirts of Chudleigh.
