Police in Ilfracombe are investigating a series of burglaries where credit cards, TVs, laptops and even a car have been taken from homes in the area.
The burglaries which began in the New Year have targeted insecure homes usually during the night.
A police spokesperson said: “We are advising residents to be extra vigilant and ensure all doors and ground floor windows are secured at night, including sheds and garages.
“If anyone who has seen anyone acting suspiciously or has any information about this recent spate please let us know.”

Officers from the regional organised crime unit Zephyr seized drugs and a large quantity of cash and three vehicles after raiding a property in Exmouth yesterday.

A man has been taken to Wonford hospital with suspected spinal injuries after his car overturned on the A303 near Honiton this morning. Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 7am this morning (15 January) due to the accident involving two vehicles. Fire crews attended the accident and used hydraulic cutting gear to free the man, thought to be aged between 20-30, from a veichle on its side. Drugs worth £90,000 have been seized by police after raids were carried out in Brixham.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the death of a man found collapsed in a Laundrette on Well Street, which is being treated as unexplained.

Operation Fatigue ran over a three-week period across November and December 2013 and involved the stopping and checking of goods vehicles as they travelled through both Devon and Cornwall.
