A five-star builder is supporting an Exeter-based estate agent in their charity drive for two local charities.

Persimmon Homes South West donated £1,000 to Right At Homes Estate Agents’ Christmas charity event this year, which will go towards helping Pete’s Dragons and Andy’s Man Club.

The event was held at Birchy Barton Hill in Exeter on Sunday (3rd December). Local residents decorated the outside of their homes for the nighttime event, which saw stalls on the agent’s driveway as well as those of the other shops on the street.

Berry Recruitment Group raises £2,500 for MIND

Staff from Berry Recruitment Group (BRG) raised almost £2,500 for the mental health charity MIND – by travelling 421 miles.

The mileage is the distance between the group’s Cornwall and Darlington branches and staff were encouraged to cover that distance in any way they liked.

They walked, ran and cycled and the group – headquartered in St Albans, Herts, with branches in Truro and Exeter - donated a pound for every mile covered.

Pony charity's valuable funds stolen

The Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust (DPHT) is appealing for help to rebuild its donation cairn after it was broken into during the festive period.

The charity's headquarters are on the Parke Estate at Bovey Tracey where it has a carpark next to its visitor and education centre.

It relies on honesty donations from those who park there to pay for hay to feed its six ponies, four of which are used for its Ponies Inspiring People programme, an education, engagement outreach scheme.

The 1st Pinhoe Guides have received a £100 donation from Taylor Wimpey Exeter to help celebrate two gold award achievements - the highest award that can be achieved in this section.
