A leading training provider is boosting awareness of the wide range of apprenticeship opportunities in the South West.

Positive Outcomes has apprenticeships available across sectors such as IT, business, property, customer services and retail.

During the Skills South West event, it held a competition to win £100 high street vouchers in an aim to draw attention to apprenticeships and what they offer. Gregory Distribution Limited (GDL) joined in celebrating National Apprenticeship Week by employing a young female engineering apprentice who visited the company’s truck stand at the Apprenticeship Expo event, held at Exeter College’s Technology Centre last Friday.

Stagecoach’s UK Bus division has been named Large Employer of the Year at the People 1st Apprenticeship Awards.

The Perth-based transport group scooped the award after impressing judges with its comprehensive bus engineering apprenticeship programme which has successfully delivered more than 350 apprenticeships over the past seven years.

Consumers in the South West prefer to do business with businesses employing apprentices, a new report from the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) has revealed. Vision Express celebrates first wave of graduates

A group of youngsters are celebrating being the first graduates from an in-demand apprenticeship programme offering diverse career opportunities with national optical retailer Vision Express.

The 13-month employee-embedded scheme accepted its first recruits in February 2014, with Vision Express deluged by almost 3,000 applications to date.
