It's raining fashion at the Met Office

WESC Foundation, a school and college for children, young people and adults with sight loss, is a specialist centre for Visual Impairment. The Exeter-based charity held a sell-out fashion show fundraiser hosted at the Met Office sponsored by ITEC Connect. More than 150 guests descended on the Met Office before being whisked off in chauffer driven limousines courtesy of Mercedes-Benz Exeter to feel like a star posing for the paparazzi on the red carpet before enjoying a champagne reception.

Wear sports shirts to work at RGB

The Exeter branch of RGB Building Supplies is inviting customers and the local community to their Prostate Cancer UK #Shirt2Work charity breakfast morning on Friday 30th October where they will have the chance to win a signed Exeter Chiefs home shirt and a signed Exeter City FC home shirt.

As well as offering breakfast between 8am and 12pm, in return for a £2 donation, staff will be donning the shirt of their favourite team challenging those that attend to do the same.

Lloyd’s Kitchen and Heart raise cash for Honeylands

Independently owned Lloyd’s Kitchen joined forces with Heart to help raise money for Honeylands Children’s Charity.

The Global ‘Make Some Noise’ campaign organised by Heart, attracted 50 diners and four competition winners to Lloyd’s Kitchen.

Restaurateur Lloyd Gardner hosted the event donating a delicious three-course dinner, prepared by resident Chef Graeme Murfin, for each guest with all monies going to the charity.

Breakfast presenters Matt and Caroline were on hand to entertain the guests and help out in the kitchen.

Exeter hotel donates televisions to charities

A popular Exeter hotel has donated television sets to a charity fundraising body, after undergoing a major re-furbishment.

The Mercure Exeter Southgate underwent a £2.5m re-furbishment earlier this year. The hotel donated 20 television sets, which were previously in rooms, to the Exeter Foundation.

As a fundraising body, the Exeter Foundation offered the televisions to its member charities on a first come first served basis. The televisions were snapped up within 2 hours by a number of different charities.

The Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership organised a successful sponsored walk on Saturday 10th October to celebrate the reopening of the sea wall for walkers and raise around £1,000 for good causes in Teignmouth and Dawlish.

Teignmouth and Dawlish Ramblers led the 40 walkers who included local councillors, Dawlish and Teignmouth Walk this Way, the Friends of Dawlish and Teignmouth Stations, Dawlish Solidarity for Refugees and a representative of Network Rail’s ‘Orange Army’.

Lloyd Barnes Accountancy Recruitment staged a Charity Quiz Night at Exeter Golf & Country Club, on 7th October, raising over £790 to their nominated charity, The Exeter Foundation.

This annual quiz night was attended by over 120 finance and accounting professionals from businesses across Devon including: Flybe, Coastal Recycling, EDF, Foot Anstey, Thrifty, Cobell and Maximus.
