Dartmoor National Park (DNP) Rangers and Devon and Cornwall Police have just formally announced that they will be working in closer partnership through the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS).
CSAS was introduced through the Police Reform Act 2002 and enables each Chief Constable to authorise the use of targeted powers by trusted organisations, which contribute toward community safety, and help tackle crime and disorder, public nuisance and other forms of anti-social behaviour in co-operation within their force area.

Exeter residents are effectively leaving their homes open to burglary via a naïve attitude to social media, a study had found today.
Personal information, crucial for burglars in selecting target properties, is being posted on social media accounts through status updates, photographs, and location tags.
Almost half of the South West social media users could be broadcasting their address, routine and possessions to burglars, by choosing not to privatise their social profiles, meaning potentially anyone online can view what they are doing and where they are.
As part of ongoing efficiency savings, Devon and Cornwall's Police and Crime Commissioner is moving office.
Next year Mr Hogg and his team will leave privately rented offices in Exeter, inherited from the former Police Authority, and move into vacant and unused space at Middlemoor Police HQ. The new space is also slightly smaller than the current premises.
The lease on the OPCC's base at Pynes Hill runs out in 2016, and Mr Hogg is taking that opportunity to further reduce OPCC running costs. They will now become lower than the Police Authority.
