Delegates from East Devon’s Town and Parish Councils turned out in force for a Community Flood Forum event run by EDDC.

Options for a new headquarters at Honiton or Cranbrook are to be put under the microscope following unanimous agreement from EDDC’s Cabinet on Wednesday 17 July that staying at Knowle is not a viable option.
Council Leader Paul Diviani says: “We looked long and hard at all the options on the table including staying at Knowle. The simple matter of fact is that our current offices are a huge drain on resources - as well as the financial considerations, the buildings are just not fit for purpose.
“We also considered in detail a number of options for demolishing the current...
If this is your fishing equipment, the time has come to catch it and carry it off!

The Council is now politely requesting that whoever owns the equipment makes arrangements to have it removed before 31 August 2013. Anything remaining after this date will have to be disposed of without further notice.

It’s proposed to replace the current Section 106 Agreement system for securing contributions towards infrastructure, meaning a flat rate would be paid by developers per square metre of gross internal...
