Graeme Smith, born in Exeter in 1957 is an accomplished exponent of Kenpo karate and is a Fourth Degree Black Belt. He is fascinated by the Bronze Age and has found many artefacts from this period whilst out metal detecting. His other hobbies include collecting knapped flints, dog walking and meditation. Getting involved in Seaton Jurassic

On Thursday 26 March, people will have another opportunity to find out more about Seaton Jurassic, the new visitor centre for the Jurassic Coast.

The drop-in event takes place in Seaton Town Hall from 3pm to 6pm and will provide more information about getting involved with the centre through volunteering, supporting the wildlife garden or donating artefacts.

On Sunday 15 March children are invited to make a natural present for mum at ‘Making Mothers’ Day special’ at the Younghayes Centre in Cranbrook, EX5 7DR.

This free event is suitable for all ages and there is no need to book. Accompanied children may drop in between 10am and 12.30pm to create a unique gift of wooden jewellery or stained glass windows with pressed flowers.

Otter Nurseries is holding a wheelbarrow raffle on Mothering Sunday to raise funds for Charity of the Year, ELF.

Tickets for the raffle cost £1 and will be available to buy at the garden centre near Ottery St Mary all day on March 15.

The lucky winner will not only receive the contents, worth over £150, but also the wheelbarrow itself, bringing the total value of the prize to around £250.

The charity ELF supports families affected by blood disorders and cancers across the South West, and is currently fundraising for a new family suite at RD&E.

East Devon's Tramper off-road scooter is 'born to run'

East Devon District Council's Countryside team is delighted to be awarded £850 from the Devon County Council Locality Budget – this will fund the lease of its Tramper (off-road mobility scooter) at Seaton Wetlands for the coming year.

East Devon’s village halls and community buildings have successfully applied for another £7,016 of funding from East Devon District Council (EDDC).

The Community Building Fund is a grants scheme that helps community buildings projects, with East Devon District Council offering grants of anything up to £5,000.

Another ten for Bonners Glen!

East Devon District Council and Sanctuary Group have worked together once again to provide extra affordable housing in Axminster.

In 1997 and 2010 Sanctuary completed the first and second phases of the re-development of formerly owned council land to provide 16 homes and a block of 8 flats.
