Witnesses' convention begins in Exeter

An estimated 4,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses and members of the public from all over Devon and Cornwall have been seen streaming into the Westpoint Centre today for the first day of the three day convention boldly entitled: “Imitate Jesus!”

The audience ranges from the very young to the very old – all can be involved and take away something from this exciting and fast paced programme.

Exeter women make every step count

THOUSANDS of women united this weekend at Westpoint Exeter, with one mission in mind – to conquer cancer.

Now Cancer Research UK is calling on the city’s formidable army of mighty-mums, gutsy-grans, and go-getting girls to make every step count by paying in their sponsorship money as soon as possible.

Exeter ladies prepare double blow for cancer at Race for Life 10k

Hundreds of ladies are preparing to give cancer ‘double trouble’ at Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life by taking part in the 10k event at Westpoint Exeter this month.

Race for Life 10k will take place on Sunday, 26 July and over 600 determined ladies have already signed up to show the disease that hell hath no fury like a woman in pink.

Event organisers are calling on mothers, daughters, sisters, friends and workmates who want to take on the challenge to sign up as soon as possible.

Exeter to host Jehovah’s Witnesses Convention

Jehovah’s Witnesses will soon hold their annual convention at the Westpoint Centre. They extend an open invitation for all to attend. The theme of this year’s program is “Imitate Jesus!”

Exeter Round Table supports charities

Exeter Round Table recently visited disability charity St Loye’s Foundation with a generous cheque donation to show their continued support for local charities in the South West.

On November 5th every year Exeter Round Table put on a magnificent firework display at Westpoint, Clyst St Mary in which all the proceeds go towards supporting a selection of local charities including St Loye’s Foundation.

With over 8,500 people attending, the 2014 firework display was one of the biggest in terms of numbers and saw the highest amount of money raised for charity to date.

Sunshine and crowds at Devon County Show

It was sunshine all the way on the first day of this year’s Devon County Show.

One of the biggest first day crowds in recent years turned out at Westpoint, Exeter to enjoy the very best of Devon farming and food.

HRH The Princess Royal was the guest of honour meeting livestock exhibitors, local producers, school children and the Armed Forces.

She spent 10 minutes talking to the Devon Federation of Young Farmers to discuss issues which affect young people who want to work and live in the countryside.

Paws for Thought family dog show

Hounds First Sighthound Rescue will be holding a Family Dog Show at Westpoint in Exeter on Saturday (25 April 2015) from 10am-5pm. Showing is from11am.

The charity has been chosen as one of a small number of charities to hold an event after entering a competition to mark Westpoint’s 25th anniversary.

Paws for Thought is an event for the whole family. Entry to the event will be free, but there will be donation buckets on the gate.
