Devon County Show line-up revealed

The 121st Devon County Show was launched in style by The Countess of Arran and Show Secretary Ollie Allen at Southernhay House, Exeter.

In Spring sunshine the pair revealed a huge line-up of entertainment and the vital role Devon’s largest event plays in the life of the county.

“Every event likes to bill itself as having something for everyone, but few have quite such genuine appeal across the board as the Devon County Show,” said Ollie Allen.

“This is surely the only event that can cater for people who are interested in food, farming and having a lot of fun.”...

On Wednesday 20 April Mole Valley Farmers is holding a free ‘Make Milk Matter’ conference at the Westpoint Conference Centre, Exeter, with innovation in dairying being its key focus.

Given the current volatility in the sector, dairy farmers are constantly looking for new, innovative tools to enhance their business and optimise opportunities. This seminar will consider new research; share the experiences of successful European farmers and introduce new technology which can help progressive dairy farmers to fine tune their businesses as they seek the competitive edge.

Urgent call for darts loving volunteers

We are urgently calling out for volunteers from Exeter who love to watch darts, to help us on Thursday March 3 at the 2016 Betway Premier League fixture, held at the Westpoint Arena.

Parkinson’s UK is delighted to be the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) official charity partner for 2016, and our staff and volunteers are attending events all across the country, helping to “Target Parkinson’s” by raising £100,000 to help fund vital research to find a cure.

Volunteering with us at Exeter will be a wonderful opportunity for local people to play their part in helping raise...

Premier League Darts

THE world's leading darts players will return to the Westpoint Arena in Exeter for the 2016 Betway Premier League.

The £700,000 Betway Premier League, televised live on Sky Sports, sees an initial ten-player field competing across four months at 16 arena venues to contest for the prestigious title, which was won by Somerset-based Gary Anderson in May 2015.

The opening nine Thursday nights see the players face each other once in the league phase, with the bottom two players from the league table following Judgment Night being eliminated.

This year’s Devon County Show on May 19th, 20th and 21st promises to be an ‘entertainment extravaganza’.

Show Secretary Ollie Allen said there will be an eclectic mix of stunning arena attractions livestock competitions and local food and drink.

“The fantastic Shetland Pony Grand National will be a massive attraction in the Mole Valley Farmers main arena and, back by popular demand, will be the Bolddog Lings motocross stunt team performing their amazing, aerial stunts.”

Exeter women are being urged to get the New Year off to a great start by signing up now to Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life 2016.

The charity is calling on women of all shapes and sizes to show cancer who’s boss by choosing their event - Race for Life 5k, 10k or Pretty Muddy – and committing to take part at Westpoint Exeter.
