Communities involved in East Devon’s pioneering recycling trials have made a spectacular effort to recycle almost 60% of their waste every week.
Latest figures from the first three months of the trials which started last September, show that the 1,367 recycling trial households in Exmouth (The Colony) and new Feniton have collectively thrown away almost 18 tonnes less rubbish – equivalent to almost two double decker buses!

A key milestone has been reached with East Devon’s Local Plan following official confirmation from the independent Planning Inspector that the plan, subject to a number of modifications, is now ‘sound’.

Ottery St Mary children and young people have new equipment to play on this Christmas which they themselves have chosen – thanks to partnership working between East Devon District and Ottery St Mary Town Councils.
The Land of Canaan play area in the town now has a spanking new climbing frame – complete with monkey bars – and a new basket swing.
