Looking for an event that's out of the ordinary? Exeter Corn Exchange welcomes back the fabulous Kinky & Quirky with their ‘Spring Fling’ event on Saturday 13 April.

Officers investigate serious collision in Torquay

Police are appealing for witnesses to a single-vehicle collision in Torquay, which left a man seriously injured. A Citroen Saxo was in collision with a stone gatepost on Lower Warberry Road at 12.35am on Saturday (6 April). The driver, who was the only person in the car, sustained serious chest and spinal injuries and was taken to Torbay Hospital. The 47-year-old man from Torquay was later transferred to Derriford Hospital where he remains in a serious condition. Further £18,000 success for District's community buildings!

East Devon's village halls, community buildings and community shops successfully applied for another £18,000 of funding in January 2013 from the Community Council of Devon and East Devon District Council (EDDC).

The Community Grants Scheme is a fund that helps community buildings projects, with the Community Council of Devon offering grants of anything up to £20,000, with additional match-funding of up to £5,000 from EDDC.

Seaton swimming pool to make a splash this summer

Seaton Primary School's swimming pool will soon be open for anyone to use, thanks in part to East Devon District Council.

Over the past two years the pool has been given a thorough makeover. The old outdoor pool has been covered over with a structure that can be opened up in good weather, changing rooms and showers have been added and there is now access from the Elizabeth Road playing fields.

Families will be more than £3,000 a year worse off by 2015 as a result of tax credit cuts, says the South West TUC.

City frustrated after suffering third consecutive defeat

Following Exeter’s home defeat to Dagenham & Redbridge, manager Paul Tisdale lamented what has been a frustrating week for the Grecians.

A third consecutive defeat has left City trying to secure a play-off place in the final four fixtures. Help to give young people a sporting chance with the Lord's Taverners

The Lord’s Taverners charity is delighted to be hosting a rugby sporting dinner on 17 April at the Great Hall, Exeter University in order to raise money to give young people a sporting chance.

The evening has a wonderful line-up of speakers taking part, including Warren Gatland (pictured), Will Greenwood, Scott Quinnell and Paul Ackford and the audience will have a chance to ask questions in a unique Q&A.
